Layoffs

So, I am not fired. They laid off a few (5) supervisors out
here, but mostly, they are making offline reps in positions
like mine go back online and take calls. One girl in my
office has been with the company for 7 years and offline
for the last 4. She is one of the ones.

Luckily, I am not because that would really bite. Instead,
I get to do refresher courses for these people who have
been offline for years.

I heard from someone who knows though that there will
probably be more in a few months.

*sigh* I'll just be updating my resume now. In the past 7
days I have managed just fine with not smoking, but this
has been the absolute hardest day to not go bum a smoke &
head outside. But I haven't. Pretty proud of that. I am
also glad I got up and ran this morning and come to think
of it, almost losing my job/security has made me thankful for a lot
of things.

Well, going now. I should make a definite effort to appear
an "essential" employee. I have heard the phrase non-essential
employee too many times today....
