odd poem

Lay still my sweet one
My heart aches when you aren't near
But when you are with me I don't feel
I see you and I want to cry
If you touch me I might die
I am simply a shadow lurking in the dark
When you look, you see right through me
Somehow as if by magic
When you do see me I look happy
But inside . . . I am lost
I lie in bed every night but I never really sleep
I cry because the one I love doesn't even know I exist
Inside I cry because I'm not happy
But you are and I put on a show so as not to make you sad
