relative morality

you like to think you're never wrong
(you live what you've learned)
you like to think you're someone
(you live what you've learned)
you want someone to hurt like you
(you live what you've learned)
you want to share what you've been through
(you live what you've learned)

....you live what you've learned......you live what you've
learned....you live what you've learned...

linkin park is really getting to me. almost every song they
have is like, a reflection of my mind...of my feelings. you
live what you've learned indeed...but how can we be so sure
that what we've learned is right?

got a message from sara...thank you very much for it. it's
really encouraging...but then, i dont' know. perhaps, i
feel the coming and going of friends more because i'm an
international student who has to travel back and forth
between two countries. it's the fear of not having anybody
close enough to you emotionally and physically... which is
why i've felt that almost all of my friends have abandoned
me...except for one...and that i think is the man i love.
nelson. but thanks sara...your message really lifted up my
spirits a bit..especially the part when you said that life
has many more surprises for me. i just do pray that they
really are all wonderful. but one thing's for sure, i will
learn from all these surprises that life will push my way.
don't worry about writing to me. please...i welcome all
sorts of thoughts and comments. enjoy life..and i also pray
that there will be more people like you sara -- people who
know how to cherish their friends, and who understand that
friendship is an effort...

to my train of thought....

is there a real good and a real evil? like the lyrics in
points of authority, we live what we've learned. but is
what we've learned right? or is it just relative?

is there an absolute truth? christians would say that of
course there is an absolute truth. but are they sure that
what they believe in is entirely perfect too? i am a
christian..but sometimes i get doubts..and god forgive me
for those doubts...but please, let me write down what i
think and feel.

an affair between an older woman of around 40 and a younger
man of around 19 for example. let us say that they are
truly in love, and they have sex because of this love. for
them, what they're doing is perfectly okay...perfectly
right. because they love each other. and heck, almost
everybody who love and are loved in return have sex. but
why is it that such a relationship is so wrong in the eyes
of the world? of the people who are not involved? they do
not know what these people feel...how dare they judge? why
does this certain kind of relationship go through so much
controversy? is it because the woman is older? so what? if
it is love, then how can it be wrong? age doesn't matter
does it?

what about the muslims? and the christians or the non-
muslims? for the religion of islam, jihad is sacred and
sanctified. but for non-muslims, jihad is absolute horror.
which is true? which is right?

i deduce that there is no real right or wrong. everything,
whether it be ethics or religion is purely relative. it's
all a matter of how and where we grew up...

lots of questions on my mind...it seems that everyday, i
find another question to ask and i can never find the
answer.

i end with the song 'points of authority' by linkin park.
of course, i dedicate this to my parents...the people who
think they're so right, so smart, and so dignified.

Forfeit the game
Before somebody else
Takes you out of the frame
And puts your name to shame
Cover up your face
You can't run the race
The pace is too fast
You just won't last

You love the way I look at you
While taking pleasure in the awful things you put me through
You take away if I give in
My life, my pride is broken

You like to think you're never wrong
(You live what you’ve learned)
You have to act like you're someone
(You live what you’ve learned)
You want someone to hurt like you
(You live what you’ve learned)
You want to share what you've been through
(You live what you’ve learned)

You love the things I say I'll do
The way I'll hurt myself again just to get back at you
You take away when I give in
My life, my pride is broken

MY life and MY pride is BROKEN. i should go get that cd.
