Men, Frosting, & Sprinkles

Twenty billion jello-shots later....HI! I'm joining you
live from Ann's kitchen, where there's a whole lot of
baking goin' on! Ivy and I are making sugar cookie men.
It's such a relief to be done with school, even though
technically I still have a couple of things to turn in by
Tuesday. Ivy, Leticia, Andy, Laura and I went out for
Chinese Food this evening! Good times. We also watched
Schrek, however that is spelled....At one point in the
evening, all five of us were in the kitchen. Ivy was making
sugar cookie dough, I was preparing jello-shots, Leticia
was pouring vodka into the jello, Andy was making
Mudslides, and Laura was trying to get the little metal
thingies to stay put in the hand held mixer. Our mixer is a
little strange. If you don't hold it to the bottom of
whatever bowl you are mixing in, the metal thingies go
flying, projectile style, across the room. Oh, I almost
forgot to mention that we went to Safeway. That may not
seem very exciting to you guys, but it certainly was to me.
Because Laura and I bought these fun little glittery body
stickers. Talk about useless purchases.
Travelling backwards in time....some friends and I went
Christmas Caroling today. I thought we were going to a
Senior Citizen Center type deal, but when we got there it
was more like a party, with food etc. We had practiced a
little before, and all-in-all, everything went ok. I was
kinda mad though, because some of us in the group, who
shall remain nameless, call themselves performers, yet
didn't smile ONCE. What's the deal? Do them honestly
believe that just because we are performing in a group,
that they don't need to smile? Grrrrr... most of them
wouldn't even step forward, so Ivy, Amanda, Leticia and I
were kind of in a row by ourselves. It was an interesting
formation, that resulted in Ivy, Amanda, Leticia and I,
being heard, and the others kinda becoming background
noise. But that's fine. I just wonder how long it will take
everyone else to figure out that none of us, regardless of
talent, can afford to try and make careers without smiling.
A lesson or two in group management wouldn't hurt either.
Leticia is a great group leader. But I can't even begin to
express the frustration that engulfs my soul, and that is
Carly's phrase, by the way.....the frustration that engulfs
my soul when people are only interested in furthering their
own goals and intentions, in complete disregard for the
rest of the group. So there. Ok. I have cold feet. U-oh. I
just realized that I told some people that I had nothing to
do tomorrow, when in fact I have three events to attend.
Why am I losing my mind?
