Cookies and Music

This morning I baked more cookies. In the afternoon I
worked on the Millenium Garden quilt while listening to some
Christmas CDs.

The Christmas concert at the high school wasn't as good as
the concerts usually are but I'm not certain why.
I know there are fewer students than in years past and there
were quite a few new ones so that may have been it. Gavin
had two solos in the jazz concert portion and he played very
well. We usually sit a few rows back on the aisle but this
time we sat in the front row. Because Gavin was front row
center John was able to get some great video of him. John's
parents came. So did his friend Dan and Jessica. Several
people came up afterwards and told me how nice Gavin looked
and how well he played. See, it wasn't just me!

I guess I don't go out much as I had fun dressing up
tonight. I pinned a turquoise pin with black seed beads and
pearl beads on the the front of my long, black velvet jumper
and wore it with a white satin blouse and my favorite beige
wool sweater. I added a pair of turquoise earrings. I let
my hair down tonight which I usually don't but John likes it
when I wear it that way, now reaches my waist.

I'm going to braid my hair, get into my flannel nightie,
fix myself some hot chocolate and a piece of toast, and go
to bed under a couple of quilts with a cat and a book.
G'night.
