a song without words

If I could write a song
Inscribe a copper line of words on a notebook page
And each word
Every single one
Would ring in my ears
So that I couldn't read it without singing it out loud
Each letter was so perfectly in place
That I could sing it in my head for all eternity
And never tire of it
Or forget it
Or change my mind
And say "this word fits better right there"
Or "this verse doesn't work for me anymore"
Because the words I wrote
Are perfect
No matter how many years I gain
How much knowlege I gain
How much wisdom I gain,
These words would always be true.
If I could write a song like that,
I would make it an instrumental.
