It's around one or so in the morning. I'm sitting in the
computer lab right now trying to get inspired somehow. It
sucks ass when your creative juices are dried out.
I've decided to remedy my lack of motivation by means of
recalling songs and quotes and stuff I found moving some
time or other.

here goes:
"I came upon a wedding that old families had contrived;
Bethlehem the bridegroom, Babylon the bride.
Great Babylon was naked, oh she stood there trembling for
me,
and Bethlehem inflamed us both like the shy one at some
orgy.
And when we fell together all our flesh was like a veil
that I had to draw aside to see the serpent eat its
tail.
Some women wait for Jesus, and some women wait for
Cain
so I hang upon my altar and I hoist my axe again.
And I take the one who finds me back to where it all
began
when Jesus was the honeymoon and Cain was just the man.
And we read from pleasant Bibles that are bound in blood
and skin
that the wilderness is gathering all its children back
again."

leonard cohen's too depressing

"I loved you in the morning, our kisses deep and warm,
your hair upon the pillow like a sleepy golden storm,
yes, many loved before us, I know that we are not new,
in city and in forest they smiled like me and you,
but now it's come to distances and both of us must try,
your eyes are soft with sorrow,
Hey, that's no way to say goodbye.

I'm not looking for another as I wander in my time,
walk me to the corner, our steps will always rhyme
you know my love goes with you as your love stays with me,
it's just the way it changes, like the shoreline and the
sea,
but let's not talk of love or chains and things we can't
untie,
your eyes are soft with sorrow,
Hey, that's no way to say goodbye."

a little better I guess

"I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,
And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed
And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade:
Exit seraphim and Satan's men:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I fancied you'd return the way you said,
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

I should have loved a thunderbird instead;
At least when spring comes they roar back again.
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)"

I guess I can really relate to Sylvia Plath, being a total
neurotic and all. I wish I could express myself in words
the way she could.

"Goodbye love
Didn't know what time it was the lights were low oh how
I leaned back on my radio oh oh
Some cat was layin' down some rock 'n' roll 'lotta soul, he
said
Then the loud sound did seem to fade a ade
Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase ha hase
That weren't no D.J. that was hazy cosmic jive"

"There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie"

David Bowie's "Starman". I remembered how much I love this
song when I visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame/Museum a
while back (school trip). There was a Bowie costume
exhibit and an interactive station where you could listen
to all his songs. For some reason I always feel a little
sad when I hear it.

That's enough for tonight. Maybe I can get some work done
now.
