Going Out

I ventured out in the rain and wind today. First, I went to
the high school to get Owen his yearbook before classes
began. I went to the office who sent me to the teacher
who's the yearbook advisor. She told me I needed to pay at
the office and then bring my receipt to the business teacher
who would give me the yearbook.

I also asked at the office when the band concert would
be held. December 13 was what the high school calendar said
but I asked if they would please confirm that and also the
time. We've had trouble with the time before; sometimes
it's at 6:30 p.m., sometimes at 7:00 p.m. and other times at
7:30 p.m. I don't want to call and invite grandparents
until I've pinned everything down as accurately as I can.

Anne told me that the day had been changed to December 12
and it was 7:30 p.m. I'm going to check again in a few
weeks and see if the day and time still holds. I've learned
the hard way that they change things but don't always
remember to inform the parents!

I went to the fabric store first and found some beige
corduroy which I thought would make a great jumper but there
wasn't enough on the bolt so I looked again and found
another, much larger bolt, of the same fabric but this one
in dark brown. I bought enough for a jumper, thread
to match and interfacing. I also bought two yards of fabric
to make aprons and a yard of thermolan batting for placemats
I plan to make. Then I went to the library and picked up the
reserved books waiting for me and headed home.
