Love, Life, & Happiness

I believe that everything happens for a reason. Many
times in my life I have found myself in a sittuation I
thought just terrible. Then weeks, months, or even years
later understood that it wasn't such a bad thing after all.
I have always been one that didn't learn anything unless I
learned it the hard way. I don't see that as a bad thing,
though. I learn the hard way, but I learn fast. Rarely will
I make the same mistake again. I don't regret either. The
way I see it, it's fine to make mistakes, as long as you
learn from them. If you do, it isn't a mistake, but a self
taught lesson in life.
When I was fifteen years old, my life started going down
hill fast. I ran away from home and started to hang out
with a lot of people that were trouble. I committed a
pretty serious crime, and got caught. They put me in a
juvanile facuility for the next month and gave me six
months on probation. At the time, I thought being locked up
was the worst thing in the world, and that it wasn't fair.
I was mad that they had locked me up.
I haven't been in any trouble with the law since then,
and now have a clean record. I didn't realize until much
later the impact that being locked up had made on my life.
If I hadn't committed this crime, and I hadn't gotten
caught, and they hadn't locked me up, I would probably
still be on the streets doing horrible things. It was a
blessing in disguise I guess. It changed my life for the
better, and taught me a very important lesson. At the time,
I didn't understand, and it just made me angry, but now I
am thankfull. I hate to think of where I would be now if
things hadn't happened the way they had.
Next time you say "Why did this have to happen to me?"
just remember that everything happens for a reason. You may
not know why now, but someday you will look back and
understand. And, don't worry, it always works out for the
best in the end. Thanks for your time, and hope you learned
something. Viva!
