Addicted to you no more
Addiction VS. willpower
Codependency is just an addiction. And what does any addiction look like? You have your stuff, which makes you feel amazing when you have it and awful when you don't have it. And you want to feel amazing, not awful, so you will keep craving for more. Which results in even more side effects and you will only feel worse in the end having lost your valuable time, money and energy.
Of course, physical addictions are a lot harder to treat, the patients' brain needs to be stimulated by medicines to be able to unlearn this pattern.
But when it comes to codependency, the situation is a bit less complicated. You can tell yourself that the stuff, this pink fog that clouds your vision, and all the hormones are things that will leave your body later and then everything will be back to normal. You will be sober again, and that's exactly what you need as you're playing a damned game where you need to use logic exactly in the places where you normally shouldn't.
After all, everything is just an illusion. Except for commitment and promises that are kept in the long term. If you don't get this, sooner or later we're both gonna lose. And I can finally say goodbye to not only you but sleepless nights too.
