A painful 6th day

Syra had booked a countryside tour with a local tour group for the day before today, but we had missed it when the girls overslept. So we were gonna try and sneak it in on the day we were supposed to leave for Marrakesh. We took the van we had rented and headed to the town where the tour took place. Our tour guide's name was Freddy. The front desk clerk told us that since we didnt make the tour we were supposed to, all they had was a french-only speaking tour guide. But we headed out anyway. Freddie drove us around a couple small towns. We saw and took pictures of Flamingos, horses, and bulls. We stopped by this one fence where a couple beautiful white horses came up to us and we fed them some grass. We stopped in a winery where we were supposed to get a meal, at least we thought. But the meal was only a few pieces of cheese and some summer beef cut up. I was getting a little anxiety already because it looked like we were going to be running late. We were supposed to be back at Sue's house by 130 at the latest. And we were about an hour away and the tour ended at around 120. But we decided somehow that we still had time, and wanted to make a quick stop to check out the Flamingo Casino which was right down the road. We went in, it was a small casino but basically just like all the rest we had ever been in. Laia played a couple machines, she got up a bit but then wound up losing it all back. I think she only lost like $20 or so. We hit the road back and didnt make it to Sue's house until after 2. Naj came out of the house hotter than hell, berating Laia and me also. She really got on Laia, calling her selfish and spoiled. We said our goodbyes to the family who werent going to the Airport with us, Rachid, the bride Luna, Baptiste the groom, and Hayam. We headed out to the airport and tensions already started to build about us missing the plane. We were running really late, and our tickets said the gate closed at 1645. We had to wait in the airport with about 10 bags of luggage while Honey and Sue took the rental car back. That took an extremely long time and everyone's anxiety began to build, because we still hadnt checked in and also still had to go through customs. Laia was already distressed from what Naj had said to her. I heard later she was smiling about something while we were waiting, and Naj made the comment that she wanted to slap that smile off her face. Naj had unloaded on me at the house also. I guess she was just pissed off at the world that day. Honey and Sue finally got back and we got in line to get our boarding passes with our 10 bags of luggage that we still had to check. We made it up to the counter and the clerk took a long time checking us in. Of course everyone's anxiety was still building, mine especially. We finally made it away from the ticket counter, then we had to go to the customs line. That was another excruciating wait. It was after 1645 at this time. We hoped they didnt shut the gate on us. I dont know how Naj was going to react if we didnt make our plane because of us being late. We still didnt even know which way our gate was once we got through customs. Luckily we found out it was straight ahead and not too far away. We saw the gate attendant watching us as we rushed up to the gate. The plane was outside and we saw a line of people walking up the stairway to the plane. If they would just let us through the gate we would be ok. The lady checked our boarding passes and let us through. What a relief I felt as we walked outside toward the airplane. My anxiety was still very high, but at least we were going to make the plane. It would have been absolute hell from Naj if we didnt get on that plane. We found our seats and I needed a drink and I know Kev did too. We flew into the Marrakesh airport. Of course we had to go through the same ordeal with customs again in Marrakesh. By this point I was exhausted, between the sleep cycles I had been on and being racked with anxiety all day. We made it through customs. Kev found a little shop in the airport that had liquor. He wanted to buy some Goose and some Jameson. I told him I really didn't want the Jameson, that I usually only do a shot or 2 of that when Im drinking it. Any more than that and I get a wicked hangover the next day.
We finally met Bibi Ahmed and he had a young child with him. He couldnt help much with our bags because Sul-tan is a handful. We were all very tired by this point as you can imagine. We had a huge van that we loaded up with our 15 bags of luggage. Memory is a little fuzzy at this point, probably from being so tired plus all the days stress. We pulled into Marrakesh, I cant even remember how long the drive was to the litlle crowded street we were on. Bibi Ahmed found a guy with a wheelbarrow to help us with the luggage. He loaded it up and we had to walk a little ways down a couple sketchy alleyways to our airbnb. We arrived, and Ahmed's wife Latifah was prepping some food for us. There were like 5 or maybe 6 bedrooms in this 4 story building. It was really nice. There was a jacuzzi on the roof, then another floor after that overlooking the city where there were some lounge chairs. You could see the other rooftop lounges from the top of our place. I settled into one of the bedrooms on the 2nd floor next to the girls. I was so goddman tired. But I did take a shower and it was fantastic. The water was hot and wonderful. What a place we were in. Apparently you can just rent out the separate bedrooms, but we had rented the whole fucking castle. On our floor was us in the middle room, the girls Laia and Syra in the room right across from us, and Naj and Kev just down the hall. Said had claimed the upstairs bedroom by the jacuzzi. Ahmed, his wife and Sul-tan were in the lone room downstairs. I know Latifah had made us a hell of a spread for dinner. I think we may have hit the town but here again my memory is fuzzy at this point. I know I slept really well between the sleeping aid and the sinus medicine I had taken. We would hit Marrakesh in the morning. It sure was nice to finally get settled into a nice room after an extremely long stressful day.
