Some of my daily prayers
These are some of my daily prayers that many might not be familiar with. Most people have heard the Our Father and Glory Be, and of course the Rosary, but many outside the faith might not have heard these prayers.
Morning offering:
Dear Jesus
Help me to spread your fragrance wherever I go.
Flood my soul with your spirit and life.
Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of yours.
Shine through me, and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with
may feel your presence in my soul.
Let them look up and see no longer me, but only you, O Lord! Stay with me and then
I will begin to shine as you do; so to shine as to be a light to others.
The light, O Lord, will be all from you; none of it will be mine. It will be you shining on others through me.
Amen.
By: Saint John Henry Newman
Prayer after Holy Communion:
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Your wounds, hide me.
Never let me be separated from You.
From the malignant enemy, defend me.
At the hour of death, call me;
and bid me come to You.
That with Your Saints I may praise You
forever and ever. Amen.
By: Saint Ignatius Loyola
Prayer before starting my ministry work:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.
By Saint Francis of Assisi
Evening offering:
Father,
I abandon myself into Your hands.
Do with me what You will.
Whatever You may do,
I thank You.
I am ready for all,
I accept all.
Let only Your will be done in me
and in all Your creatures.
I wish no more than this,
O Lord. Into Your hands
I commend my soul.
I offer it to You
with all the love of my heart.
For, I love you, Lord,
and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into Your hands
without reserve and
with boundless confidence.
For You are my Father

Prayer to the Sacred Heart for Priests: Every Thursday Night
Jesus, Divine Master, I thank Your most loving Heart for giving the Church the sacrament of Holy Orders. Priests are called by God and sent into the world by You, as You were sent by the Father. You have consecrated them to preach the Gospel, to shepherd the faithful, and to celebrate divine worship. Grant us the grace to respect them, listen to them, and let ourselves be guided by them along the path to holiness. Jesus, send good laborers into Your harvest. May priests be the salt which purifies and preserves; may they be the light of the world; may they be the city placed on the mountain. May their hearts mirror Your Heart. And one day in Heaven, may they possess the crown of joy awarded to Your faithful servants. By: Blessed James Alberione, SSP (adapted)
Litany of Humility: Daily during Lent and every Friday during the year
O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being loved, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being extolled, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being honored, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being praised, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being preferred to others, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being consulted, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being approved, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being humiliated, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being despised, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of suffering rebukes, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being calumniated, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being forgotten, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being ridiculed, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being wronged, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being suspected, Deliver me, Jesus.
That others may be loved more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be chosen and I set aside, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be praised and I unnoticed, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be preferred to me in everything,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
