Quick Pantoum
Personal entry follows.
///
It's been quite some time since I've attempted poetry. So I felt like giving it a try, using one of my personal favourite forms. It's a lyrical-style verse called a Pantoum. It features repeating couplets that eventually circle round to the first verse. It was amusing to see where this one ended up.
Striding into middle-age
The fool begins again
Turned unblinking from center stage
Now it's mountain, forest, fen.
The fool begins again
So many skills to learn
Now it's mountain, forest, fen
Kindling a passionate burn.
So many skills to learn
Discarding those from a past life
Kindling a passionate burn
Cuts from a blue steel knife.
Discarding those from a past life
Friends, lovers, colleagues change
Cuts from a blue steel knife
So now, nothing seems strange.
Friends, lovers, colleagues change
Striding into middle-age
So now, nothing seems strange
Turned unblinking from center stage.
