My plan was to get some sleep after writing and then go to Mass. It didn’t quite work out that way, however. I got into bed and waited for sleep to find me. And waited…. And waited…. And waited…. Then, the alarm shrilled and I arose, showered, shaved and dressed.
By this point, I was so furious with my mother because I was dizzy, feverish, short of breath and nauseated and I didn’t, at this point, want to go. I’m fine now, I was just overtired. She insisted, like I was still a wee lad, that I would go to Mass with her and then to the stables so she could get the horses’ feed preparatory to moving them This evening. We are moving to another livery, as we don’t think they are caring for our animals properly.
Then, she offered me the chance to go back to sleep and go with her later to the stables. I irritably informed her that I was already awake, so I might as well go. And off we went.
The Mass was wonderful. The speakers were so good and so emotional that it made me emotional. I had to discreetly wipe away a tear a couple of times.
At the stables, I sat in the car and waited because I wasn’t feeling well. Then, home we went. I took my medicines and thought I would unwind for an hour or so and then go to sleep. Did that happen as expected? Noooo.
I didn’t end up going to sleep until 4:33 this morning. I slept a solid 8 hours though.
My mother is now at the livery getting the horses and moving them to their new, but old, home. I hope this place works out this time…
Carrie and Allen made it to their new home with a few mishaps along the way. I am glad for them, and I can’t wait to see their new place.
