The angle

I have this friend. She has been a friend since jr high… on and off. Kinda sure I’m her backup plan, but I’m not at all interested- never have seen her that way. This past year she offered me a job to remodel her home. She lives two hours away. I’d have to stay there to do the work. I declined telling her I’m not set up to do that kind of work on the road. True, but I could be. I don’t want to have that kind of relationship with her.

I got a fb message from her a few days ago. She told me about an acquaintance of hers that she thinks may be interested in my book. Well… I doubt it, because she’s likely from a publishing house and I have no agent. It’s hard to tell who this person could be from what she’s told me. She actually knows a few very rich and famous people… still… I offered to send her a few copies. Who knows. I’m likely wasting my money and she’s trying to weasel her way into my life as she’s tried to do before, but, maybe not. Maybe she’s grown up a bit. As all things do come clear with time, this too will present itself one way or another.
