SNL one upping

I wrote a book review today. The book made me cry, and despite my feeling awkward about saying so publicly, I did.

About an hour later someone I know loved my post and then took almost my exact words, and posted about a different book. Then this person said they cried multiple times and sobbed. Hm. Well, it’s just weird. I’m glad they enjoyed their book. I’m glad they chose to post about it and give it some exposure. I just don’t understand why you can say vanilla and someone else has to say vanilla with cherries and chocolate syrup , granola and whipped cream. It’s not a competition.
