Lagniappe

This is a term I learned when I lived in New Orleans. It means something extra”. Down there it kinda means what else am I going to get. To me it means being thankful or grateful for whatever the situation is. Sometimes it’s a friendship. Sometimes it’s an exchange or a hug. I often try to do or give a little extra. I have the energy, why not share it? I won’t always be able to, but today, yeah. Here’s a little extra.

Have a fantastic day! When someone cuts you off in traffic, know they didn’t get that good energy today. You did, so let it slide. Be kind because you have that lagniappe and someone else may need it.

In other ways, it’s just adding something unexpected as a thank you.
