Hey,

Soooooooo you know how I'm the student director for a little play at school? No? Well I am. And tomorrow night were performinggggggggggggggggggggg! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I keep telling people this, I feel like a mom. I've never been so in love with yet so annoyed with the same group of people in all of my life. I'm so proud I just want to break down and cry. I feel such a personal connection and attachment to all of them and I feel the need to express it constantly. So, instead of hugging and squeezing the life out of all of them, I've decided to make them all a little gift. We're getting them each a little fake rose to keep after the show and I made a tag to tie onto it saying the play, the date, and a little message I wrote for them all. It says "thank you all so much for your devotion to this play. I can't tell you how happy I am that I got the chance to direct you all and how proud I am to see you all in the spotlight on stage. Good luck and break a leg" and my name. If I could I'd write a personal letter to all of them and thank them for everything but I just don't have the time. So instead I'll just be as happy and openly proud as possible and I'll let you know how it goes!

EEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA IT WENT BEAUTIFULLY!!! There were many, MANY, mistakes but it still turned out so perfect! That's what I love about how personal this show was, we could have just lit the stage on fire and blown raspberries for 45 minutes straight and I'd still be in love with everything. We totally skipped a huge chunk of the taily-po scene but you know, it's okay. You couldn't tell unless you knew and they made up for it with the rest of their act so I still consider it a win.

Another thing I was told about it however, was that almost 1/5 of it was improvised. Now, I couldn't tell since I was backstage the entire time but that does not change the fact that YOU COULDN'T EVEN TELL! Like, that's an accomplishment. I know I sound like I'm in denial, because I am, but stillllll. I love them all so much. And when I was giving out the roses before the show, Lynx read the note I put on the back and literally was tearing up! She was about to make me cryyyyyy! People really did love those roses too. My only regret is not getting any for the crews too since they all seemed to want one real bad as well.

Something I found pretty funny about the end of the show was how people reacted to me. I had on a nice black dress with a black belt, fishnets, and some black and red makeup, and people were acting like I looked sooooo good. They just kept telling me how nice I looked and how good of a job I did. Like, what did I even do!? I wasn't on stage, go tell the actors how good they did. All I did for the show was tell the actors their lines when they forgot!

Either way though, I think we did so good and I'm so proud of us all. I have to go now, goodnight!
