Where are philanthropists?

In the past, some of the wealthy of England looked after the needy of society in a pro-active way. Possibly because religion was a factor back then. Employers included those who actually thought about the welfare of their workers and showed it by doing things like building decent housing like Port Sunlight. In a world where hard working people have to use food banks because of zero contract jobs with not enough pay and no guaranteed work hours, are all employers greedy for more and more money? Nowadays philanthropy and caring for the well-being of employees seems unheard of. Depression is rife in society and is it any wonder? Who cares? Really! Who cares?
