Ordinary miracles

Sometimes, things happen to us that people will call coincidence or “the hand of fate”. I call them ordinary miracles. They are not miraculous in the grand scheme of things. They will not make headlines, or make people stare in awe, but they are deeply personal and moving to those who experience them.

One of these things just happened to me. You see, I am a bit of an e-mail pack rat. I keep a lot of e-mails…. Old articles I want to reread, new articles I haven’t read yet, but hope to…Someday. Password information for various things. Old medical records. I was searching for an e-mail concerning the resetting of a password on the site for my pain management clinic, and I found it. Tonight’s ordinary miracle. A medication and procedures list of all the medications and procedures concerning the management of chronic intractable pain I have ever had, what worked, what didn’t, who performed or prescribed them, what doses, etc. the last time I wrote this list, it took me almost 3 hours. I know it doesn’t seem like much, but to me, it is truly a blessing…. An ordinary miracle.
