Sue Gray and Noel Park

Wed 25/05/2022
The Sue Gray report was published, making Johnson’s earlier claims that he didn’t know about the parties even more ludicrous, especially as he had time to ask about them in between his Commons denials. Virtually all the 15 events referred to in the report took place in a small suite of offices through which Johnson regularly passes. He even called the party in his flat, with alcohol and Abba records, a work meeting. And he claimed all the senior management has since changed, though he's the most senior.

I didn’t go out for lunch and was a bit reluctant to go up to the school allotment, but I thought I’d feel better with the run, but I was a bit late leaving, because I was ready too early so decided to fill in the time, which made me late…

In Wood Green, Nurj called me and we went to the Yard, but the others weren’t there, so she took me to Noel Park. She asked how old I am, gratifiedly asking whether I was older or younger than her (I’m quite a bit older). We waited for a while at the front entrance, only to find they’d gone in round the back.

It was a good turnout: K was back from India, Sam, Julie, Alex, Louise, Dave, Neil, Charlie and Toyo were all there, meaning only N, Sarah and L were missing; there are a good crop of regulars again now. It was a fun evening; the best tasks are always where I can move around chatting to different people. I binded a bit with Julie again, remembering our meeting in Ironbridge.

Afterwards I walked up to the High Street with Alex, which was nice. I saw my bus going by, but walked up to the station, which was further than expected.

At home I brought the Top 100 indices up to date, felt a bit hungry so ate far too much potato and mushroom, with Worcester Sauce. I never learn, I woke up with a headache next day,
