I had a great day today. I didn't go into town but I did head up to the grocery store to get a couple of things and to Ace Hardware to grab some things for painting. I filled up on gas, bought a few paintbrushes and painter's tape, ingredients for one meal, and some laundry stuff -- I spent $260! I know there are a variety of opinions out there as to who is to blame for inflation. I know that there may be multiple factors but certainly, some of their current and past policies have contributed to it. Like with most things in life, you can never solve a problem unless you a) identify that there is a problem and b) accept and own the fact that while you had good intentions, maybe some of the choices you've made have not worked the way you wanted them to. I think people will accept that and respect that. Most people will at least. I have heard them blame a lot of people but have yet to hear anything about themselves. That, in my opinion, is so childish. I think we recognize humbleness in people and want to work together with someone who is trying but the more they keep telling us that everything is fine, the more people start to think twice at the ballot box. I don't get why people have such a hard time admitting fault. It is one of the humans' greatest weaknesses. It's okay to make mistakes. We all do it...
So, rant over about inflation.
I painted -- well, I FINISHED painting the kitchen. We started to paint Mom's office but will need to tackle the rest another day. I finished the spot on the ceiling in my office that I missed. And, I finished painting the garage. It doesn't feel like a lot but it feels nice to wrap up those loose ends on some unfinished projects.
Shockingly, I am in a great mood considering the Scorpio moon. Normally, I am going bananas. I bought Babbel to kind of help my Russian. I need some things to work on throughout the day that are bite-size. Like, 10 minutes here or something. I love Rosetta Stone but you really need to do that on a computer, not an iPad or iPhone because the images are so small on the apps and the functionality is not there yet. I like Pimsleur but 30 minutes of audio can get excessive. I think 20 minutes might be a better timeframe to keep people engaged and not zoned out. Babbel has been nice to do in little chunks and if I have to close out and return later, it is not that big of a deal.
Work was fine yesterday. I did have one case that was really bad. The more I dug in, the wilder it got. He called and called all day wanting to speak with me directly but thank God I don't talk with people. I honestly think inflation has a lot to do with the uptick in cases.
Boot's riding mower is busted =[ He has been working on it all day. This is why I keep my self-propelled push mower because I know any riding lawnmower I have will self-combust after my ass rides around on it for 4 seconds. Plus I have such a hilly yard that it would not take much to tip over. Probably best to keep that self-propelled one lol. But it does make me sad for him because I know he loves that thing.
Well, I think that is about it for today. I am going to go soak in the tub and relax. Ciao.
