Walk in the woods

There were things to do today; seeds to plant, a yard to mow, a house to clean. But we pitched it all and went on an adventure. I came across a small trail in a nearby town. The trail boarders a wetland and it is some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. As we walked along a trail with towering trees forming a canopy above me I remembered something I had forgotten. Something I can’t quite put words to. I grew up in woods. Making trails. My family backpacked and every summer I saw some of the most amazing places, mountain passes, meadows, glaciers, things that are indescribable, things that photos can’t capture.

I remembered who I was today and how I fit into place.
