Quick Chat

An impromptu department or company meeting scheduled for about 15 minutes. From experience, important announcements usually given in these short meetings -- and more often than not, it's not good. It could be someone was fired, or there's a mass layoff, or a bigwig is resigning. Very rarely good news is announced. We'll have this quick chat this afternoon. Flashback from 2 years ago, one month after I was hired, 2 people were laid off. Anxiety is building up and I'm not really sure what's going to happen. I've reached my 1.5 months mark at work, what could this be?

I've found a good show. It's a k-drama called "Racket Boys". It reminded me of movies like the Mighty Ducks or other kids sport movies involving a rinky dink group of kids that end up becoming champions. Mostly about this kid and his family, but since it's a series, they are able to develop or at the very least, explore the lives of the people around them. What is going on in their community. There are interesting stories happening around that may directly or indirectly affect the central character. I like how it's not very self-centered. Also, I love how flawed each character is. I guess it's basically a "coming of age" type of show that is generation appropriate. Oh, other thing I love about the show is that we see boys and men crying, not just crying but "WAAAAHH" kind of cry. They show it's okay to cry. Some characters may be ashamed of it but we clearly see that more than one of the boys cry in front of others. Anyway, I'm enjoying this at the moment. I had to pause watching Downton Abbey after *spoiler alert*………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. Anna was raped. I couldn't handle that. It made me very angry and frustrated and sad. It's really, UGH! I'm going to watch my Racket Boys for now.
