Something gross

Dont really want to write about too much today. There wasnt a whole lot going on. Just an update on that Delta 8 I took last night. I dont remember being fucked up too much, I think it just made me really tired. I slept until about 9:30 this morn, and still didnt want to get up then. I finally forced myself to get up and get a cup of coffee. I took my bike and took Johnny down the road for a jog. When I got back, I did a few things in the backyard, like throw away the boxes from all the flooring that were out there. I also put the new furniture the wife had bought on the deck. I decided to try and find out what that horrible smell was out back by the shed. Its been really bad back there, like someone dumped fish out there somewhere. I finally found the issue, and it was totally disgusting. There was some kind of animal that had tried to crawl through a hole in the side of the shed but apparently had gotten stuck. There was gray fur hanging out from the side of the shed. A couple large spiders had built their nests right where the shed meets the neighbors fence, because there were a lot of damn flies around having a feast on dead rodent flesh. I think it was a possum, cant say for sure. Something had eaten it down to the bloody spine. I went back inside and chilled out for a few minutes, contemplating how to handle it. I had thought maybe our neighbor had dumped some fish back there or something, but obviously that wasnt the case. I settled down and had some breakfast. I decided to ty to pull the creature out with the old man grabber handle thing we had in the laundry room. I thought if I could find a bucket or container big enough to put him in, I could put some dirt in it and maybe cover up the smell a little, just enough to maybe get him in my trunk and take him down the street on the stretch of road where there are no houses. I would dump him there. I decided to try to find a stick or some paper to light up and give me some smoke to drive off the damn flies. I got lucky and found a stick in the firepit. Also found a piece of paper to wrap around it. I got it lit with a torch lighter and it worked really good. The flies scattered, and the smoke masked the smell really well. I opened up the hole that the creature was stuck in a little. Tried to pull him out with the grabber, all the while trying not to retch like I had earlier. Pieces of him were falling off, his fur mostly. I was able to get him out with minimal effort. I got what was left of him in the bucket and put the top on. I put the bucket in the wheelbarrow. I contemplated burning him in the firepit. I really thought about it, but it was so goddamn hot out. It probably would have stunk really bad too. So I stuck with the plan of taking him down the street to the abandoned stretch of road by the highway. The little board I had lit on fire was still smoking a little, doing a great job masking the smell. I got the dead carcass down there. Threw him into some high grass. I felt later on that he could be at peace now, with the ants or buzzards finishing his body off instead of just rotting there with the flies eating him on the side of my shed. I had good vibes about him being at rest now and being able to give back to the environment, after what I'm sure was quite a terrible death. Hanging there on the side of my shed and dying of thirst or hunger or whatever the hell killed him there. Im sure the dogs were always checking him out, they have been coming in the house smelling funny for a week or two. Later on I sprayed some axe deodorant that I hardly ever use out there by where he was hanging.
