I joined because I've been feeling nostalgic about my livejournal days. I met so many great people on there and some of them became actual friends. I grow tired of what passes for modern human interaction. Go on FB where your boss spies on your posts so you can't say anything personal or go on Twitter and spill your heart out in only 120 characters lol. I just miss real people. People that have deeper things to say than "hey check out this meme"
It also seems like a great time to start a journal because I need a place to vent, to dream, and to explore. My partner of 15 years has cancer. It has been a real rollercoaster. I'm very positive but there aren't many people in my life that I feel comfortable talking to about it.
One of the good things that came out of it is that I became more spiritual. Not in an annoying cult way LOL. But I've been exploring Bhakti yoga and I'm in this beautiful online book study reading these ancient Hindu books that make me really meditate on the universe and wonder if and where all of these trials and tribulations are leading to. It's a little oasis in my week between the significant stress and dissatisfaction of my job and the added pressure of school (psych major).
Well anyway, thats my little intro from New York. Hello world!
