Acorn TV - Close to the Enemy
I started watching this recently. Soon I will have seen all episodes yearning for more....there, they refer to 'seasons' as "Series" where we use Series just to categorize show.....and each year they air are referred to as "seasons". I had watched a couple episodes and loving it already; when the guy who starred in Bates Hotel...and then went on to star in "The Good Doctor" appeared in this one playing the main character's brother. I love him. He is a great actor. I am imagining how it would be to have him go grocery shopping with me...not as a couple...just a couple of people...grocery shopping....and then maybe hang out in my kitchen cooking stuff...he seems very interesting.
"Close to the Enemy" is set during World War II time period. The outfits and hair styles....the music...the way they talk....even the stage props such as what is setting on the desk...from telephones to vases of flowers....everywhere..and outside...the hotel there is area showing what it may look like in a war zone.....smoke...rumble....etc...the colors on the walls...all of it...done perfectly. Very believable to feel like you are watching an old film....almost appears to be in Black & White...
I am enjoying it very much.
Acorn TV also has Doc Martin...all his seasons...and I am waiting on one more...the last one most likely....but because of Covid it has been delayed somewhat. Oh man...that show has views to die for....living in a place like that...is a dream. Mt, Pleasant is a comedy series...and the acting in it is perfect,,,a magnet almost drawing you to watch it until there is no more to watch....binge watching...and that one is a perfect one to try....you might want to at least set a aside a few days. You will not be disappointed.
Acorn is not too expensive....I love the way you can watch it on your Smart TV or your lap top....so you can take it with you....everywhere....or your phone of course.....
anyway....on these rainy days....today is one of them....we really need a good book...or something like Acorn TV to explore our minds...and keep us distracted from the gloom....
