Valentine's Day!

Diem,

Time to celebrate the who-knows-how-many-th Valentine's Day in a row I've spent single with no valentine. I say that jokingly, by the way. I'm not actually upset. I've never understood the serious bitterness towards Valentine's Day. Are these people that angry when they see couples celebrating their anniversaries? Or getting engaged? Or just going on romantic dates? Like, yes, Valentine's Day is a way of capitalism trying to commodify everything down to love, I get that. But I get tired of seeing all the people trying to bring the mood down around what's supposed to be a sweet day.

As I said, I don't have a significant other to celebrate with, but I did have a nice dinner with my mom and sister. And I could always say my valentine was my cat. The day is about love - It doesn't necessarily have to be about ROMANTIC love. I'm glad for anything that kind of re-centers people's minds on love and appreciating those they have. It's a nice thought. Romantic love isn't necessary to be happy, or to be "complete," but LOVE in general is the most important thing there is

Love Love
