school is tough

School is the one thing by law we are forced to do everyday. It is not legal to drop out of high school and yet I know a lot of high school drop outs. I looked up the legal age of dropping out of high school in Kansas and it is 16. Seems I am in luck because I am 16. My parents are really strict about everything I do. I hate school, I won't go to college unless it is online college and I am moving out the second I turn 18. School has given me more stress than my parents have given me and that says a lot. Research says that kids who drop out are more likely to be involved with criminal activity ... the world assumes so much about teenagers who drop out. Not every teen is a criminal because they don't want to go to school or because they don't want to get a job. If we don't have a good education and a job people will see us as a soon to be criminal or a druggie. WE ARE NOT DRUGGIES OR CRIMINALS...we just don't like working for other people and we don't want to sit in a classroom all day long waisting our time. We have ONE chance to live our life and around 18 years of our life is waisted sitting at a desk listening to a teacher who waisted around 22 years of their life getting a degree just so they could sit down in another school and teach and learn.

Why do we do this? We do this because it is what we have been doing for generations and no one wants to be the person who says "I don't want to get an education".
