Homeless Slurpee

At work again; and it's 12:06am.

I just did a few walking steps to get over 1000 before I stopped to write you, Diary. Yesterday after work (and after a quick nap) I video'ed myself doing push ups by an abandoned bridge, then went to this park area and walked 3 miles.

For cool down, I did some squats(?) on an incline sidewalk, then went and tried a "new" car wash place (new for me), then trucked back home to go buy a laptop at the nearby military base for Girl#2 so she can test for school (college). While her, Wifey and I were scrubbing laptops, Wifey said "we've come a long way to say we can afford to buy a laptop, etc etc." This is true. After I retired from the military even with disability, we were hurting for cash, but you know, "robbed Peter to pay Paul" and did what we had to to get over (nothing that drastic, just saying.). Now, with my DoD job, and careful spending/budgeting we own a home, 2 "newer" cars, etc etc. With OT we're able to do things like buy laptops (needs), move cash around and make do. It's a good feeling I guess "AS A MAN" (don't get trigged! You know what I mean) to be able to afford stuff.
Like that line in that Prince song "America" from his Around the World in a Day album states:
"We may not be in the black,
"But we happy we ain't in the red."

The miles, staying up until 1pm (and of course one shot of JO, lol) must have did a number on me.
Usually I sleep 4-5 hours before I get up and check emails, etc before leaving the bedroom.
But at 6pm last night when I got up I felt like that line from that Chicago song from the 70's they did, called Saturday in the Park"
"Does anybody really know what time it is?
"Does anybody really care?"
I felt out of it, like I had to check my phone 'was it 6pm on a weekday? Am I late for work, etc etc?"
I guess the body was like
"A B; A= exercise and long hours, B= JO"
"Equals C; Yo! you ain't ging nowhere for a minute, hold up."
I do feel better now, though.

Enroute to work tonight
I stopped at a Circle K (like a 7-11)
And got my free Slurpee (for First Responders)
Someone told me on FB it was free hot dog day ,
Told the worker, they didn't believe it
But after fact checking
They saw it was real and put weiners out on the
turning-thing
I said "I gotta work, could I have that other thing...rolled something"
I got it, and gave to a homeless dude
nearby outside
Because I WANTED that food, but I didn't NEED it"
A good deed!!
(I kept the Slurpee, tho....I mix it with energy drink for those long midshift nights).
