The Virus Has Changed Us All For Life

It has changed us inside and all of our societies. Some live in fear and others live in resignation. I have a combination of those two. It's made me more cynical and yet oddly more empathetic. I have seen the fear in the eyes of people, especially the old of my generation. We hang on knowing WE are more likely to die from IT.

Today I will go across town for a blood test. Clinics have been closed in many places. Medical personnel reshuffled, moved or laid off. After that great adventure I will try to get some food and supplies I need on my very limited budget. Need to have the discipline to eat less.

I have read of meat processing plants being shut down due to worker sickness and even death. THAT ASSHOLE TRUMP has ORDERED such plants to be kept open. Most of those dying are poor and or people of color. When all this started I was amazed at the sudden empty shelves. I WAS able to get enough toilet paper for 1 person for a few months. It's become a bad joke. It all makes me appreciate food so much more. There is talk of food scarcities and in some places long lines at food banks.

I realized when this started, with dental offices and doctor offices closed; with hospitals being full of the Virus I need to be very careful about my health. No accidents and eat foods that are not hard. That's almost a cliche about old people.

There is a new humor I have seen. That grim Virus humor. Shortages, jokes about protestors wanting their "freedom" wearing walmart camouflage and carrying guns. Stupidity!

I have had a few concussions and this virus life feels like I am living in the disoriented aftermath of a concussion. We all had our lives slightly planned and now... new plans but with great uncertainty. Many of us (like me) use "IF" a lot. "IF I live that long". I have to cut back on reading news sites due to the depressing quality of it. Now though, I notice more of a deadened feeling about it. Resigned. Acceptance yet vigilant to survive.

So many past predictions of WHAT such a thing would do to society and people. So many if not all, all wrong. So far no break down of society. Despite trump, the USA has not totally collapsed. This is the wrong time to have an IDIOT in charge of things. I hope I live long enough to vote against that bastard in November. I hope so much to see him go down. IF HE DOES NOT GO DOWN it will be the end of the USA. As it is, he is consolidating power with dishonest ass kissers. Competent people being fired. A dictatorship for the rich.

THAT is a big way how I have changed: Rabidly political now.
