Whew! Work and gym is done. 💪
Work was not bad today. Had to drive in to discuss a few things with some fellow Engineers that drive to work too. We have to turn something up on Friday and we have some firewall rules that need to be modified. Two types, Fortinet and Palo Alto. We got a plan so it's all good. Now, I just keep a low profile this week otherwise my boss will dump more work on me and I want to focus on this one.
We discussed the newly promoted people that got hired. The one that I didn't even get an interview for. Grrrrr 😡. So I found out something about this Supervisor. An ex employee of his told me he was prejudice and only hires white people. I don't know if that's true and if it is, I wouldn't want to be working for him if that's the case. But yeah, coincidentally, the new hires are all white. In fact, all the people he hired since he was a supervisor are all white. But I only take it with a grain of salt. I can't believe people are like that now in this day and age. If he is, then good. I wouldn't want to be working with him.
Although I do lose out on topping out to 125K a year if I don't get that position. Right now, I think our peak is 112K-115K a year. I forget and since I was out 3 months last year recovering from surgery, my W-2s don't reflect my top pay. My top pay will change this summer. We will have an increase of like I kept saying 7.5%. Sorry if I keep mentioning it. I just want to make myself feel a little better for not getting a promotion and it is a good chunk of change.
Just got done with ckt training. Freaking Tabata is a high intensity workout and today, it kicked my ass. Don't know if I will be able to sneak in 1,000 jumps on my jump rope today. We went heavy on quads. The hardest station was Mary Catherines. I think that probably is the top 3 workouts that burn my quads the most. Heaters is another one too but we didn't do that today. Pistol squats is another nasty one. Today, it was Mary Catherines. Trying to keep your balance and to jump even while your quads are burning takes a lot of willpower for sure. My secret? Like I said before. Use your emotions. Mad, sad, happy, glad, frustrated, even horny. hahaha. Any emotions will help get you over the top when your muscles are burning like that. But yeah...today, my legs are looking pretty toned for now. It'll die down once I relax for a bit.
So for dinner, I have a plethora of choices. Freshly, leftover ham, porterhouse steak, salad (I think this will be a pass for tonight), manapua, or cook from scratch. Nah... steak it is. I'll eat while watching TV. I haven't watched my recorded Outlander yet. It's becoming my fav series next to "Better Call Saul". I miss GOT and have the last season still on my DVR that I watch from time-to-time. I have Netflix but I don't recall watching a Netflix show in so long. Maybe 2 or 3 shows in the past 3 months? I think I'll cancel it for now since I'm not using it.
Otherwise, no new news. No drama. Just the way I like it. I could go on like this till summer. That's when we go camping and do a lot of wine tasting so I hope it'll be good to go out by then. But yeah, while a lot of people are going bonkers, I seem to flourish during this time. Making the most of the situation. Having the time to self reflect and self improvement is good and now is a good time to do it. The only thing that sucks about this quarantine is I can't get a haircut. My hair is past my ears and tickling the effe out of my ears. I know I'm not supposed to touch any membranes like eyes, nose, mouth, and ears so it's worse when you know you are supposed to not touch it!!! AAAAHHHH!!! haha. 🤪
