Setbacks

[Written Thursday, 9 January 2020, 20:07]

Had a full day of work today. Non-stop from when we arrived at the client up to when we left.
I discovered some issues in the client’s records that that basically doubled the amount of work I would normally have to do.
For a bit more detail: I found an issue in the depreciation calculations that meant I now have to recalculate depreciation on all assets for all years to make sure the figures are correct, instead of just recalculating the current year’s depreciation like we normally do.
I also ran into this weird issue where the client’s accounting system somehow did not agree with itself. I’m going to try and sort that out tomorrow as well. Hopefully it’ll turn out that there’s just an obscure setting or checkbox somewhere that’ll fix everything. [This did end up being the case]

I had a very uncomfortable night’s sleep last night.
See, I use this electronic mosquito repellent. And last night we had power outages. So I woke up at around midnight itching like crazy because the mosquitoes were eating me alive. It was also too warm to sleep completely under the bedding. After about a half hour of being half-awake, it dawned on me that luckily I do also have the old-fashioned spray repellent. So I used that and got back to sleep.
Here’s hoping for better luck tonight.

A small footnote, just because I feel like mentioning it. Didn’t really have any interaction with Bianca today. She was at work and everything, sure. But we were just both so busy with our work, we didn’t really have a chance to interact.
Most noteworthy thing was just that I reminded her not to forget her lunch break
