Long drives

[Written Tuesday, 7 January 2020, 20:02]

It was our first day back at the client today. For some reason a lot of the staff there thought we would only be coming in tomorrow, despite us having told them yesterday that we would be coming from today. Ah well, the guy we told probably got the message a bit confused when he let the rest know. It didn’t cause any problems.

The client did did get a company cat. A little kitty that belongs to the company and roams around the offices. I’m assuming for staff morale purposes. But I do wonder how exactly that works with the building’s alarm system through the night. Maybe someone takes it home for the night, but I’m not entirely sure.

Again, we weren’t quite as busy as I thought we would be. For the last part of the day we had pretty much nothing to do because the client hasn’t gotten us data yet. So through a combination of heat, insufficient sleep, and boredom, I almost fell asleep a few times. Once while sitting at our workstation, and a handful of times during the drive home [I was not the driver this day].

The only real non-work-related highlight of today is that Bianca sent me a funny video after-hours. That was nice, and we had a nice exchange about it.
