Prompt 048: Watching the Sunrise

48. Your chipper friend has gotten you up early enough to watch the sunrise. How does seeing this phenomenon make you feel and why? Is it something you'd do again? Why or why not?
///

Based on how I have watching the sunrise as part of my ideal morning, I have no problem with this. I wonder what it would be like to be forced to watch the sunrise every morning... "Is it there yet? ...How about now?"

Or maybe something more structured and official:
"Attention mission control, this is Green Bongo. Be advised that the eagle has landed. I repeat, the eagle has landed."
"Copy that, Green Bongo. We have visual. You are cleared for a nap."

I also have more energy in the morning (my sexual arousal referenced in my "ideal morning" prompt notwithstanding). There are fewer people around, I don't feel so rushed. I have a lot of morning routines so making ready for the day is nearly something I can do on autopilot, with little concentration. But at the end of it, I'm relatively cheerful and ready to face the day.

I wonder what it would be like to live in a place where I can watch the sunrise every morning. I am likely going to do that when I head off for my week's vacation to the shore later this month. That trip is pretty much all I can think about in my spare moments. I rented a very nice hotel room for six days at an east coast resort town. It's the off-season, so it will be exponentially less-crowded, and exponentially more peaceful. I have a few things on my agenda:
- take naps
- ride my bicycle
- eat pancakes
- eat pizza
- go metal-detecting on the beach (a first for me)
- maybe make or buy a kite and fly it? I made a kite from a garbage bag once, and it was super cool.
- play video games
- stargaze with my telescope
- drink my one-alcoholic-drink-a-year
- and yes, watch the sunrise

I have a friend who may be coming down there with me, in which case the possibility exists for me to live out my ideal morning (not saying I'm expecting it to happen, but it would be a most pleasant surprise if it did). Geocaching would likely also be on the agenda should this friend of mine be able to come down, since she has a smartphone and last time she and I were at the shore that's something we did together.

To sum up: waking up in time to watch the sunrise is completely fine with me. I've done it before, and I'll do it again, many times. Sooner rather than later.
