California patch

Had to do a bit if drywall repair. Saw a method on YouTube called a California patch. No backer needed. You make the patch piece oversized and then score the backside to size and then remive the excess plaster/gypsum from the outer paper. Then add extra mud to the edge of the board and then set in place. No need to tape it, the excess paper takes care of that. Then just mud it in.
I found out, removing the extra plaster from the paper....not as easy as it looked on the video. But it did work. Thinking maybe I should have dampen it before trying to peel it. I'll try that on my next patch.
