Open Letter To Parents

Girl#4, she's the youngest coming in at 10 years old, yet focused on what she wants, etc etc
And she's been dying for a puppy...
So today, she asked for a sit-down with Wifey and I . She then read from her diary journal while crying about how badly she wants a puppy or a small dog, and the reasons behind it. We were both calm but I knew we could've lost it at any moment..I mean heartbreaking but yeah so nuch respect for a little girl / 10 yr old to put it out like this...wow
Don't get me wrong, her points were valid and well thought out...all of that and a bag of chips. And kudos to her for writing it out, and talking it over, (we have a dog and cat, both older and Alpha females, we had other dogs before, but one was too much for the fam after a dog attack and one died from eating swimming pool poison-thingies, we think. We like smaller dogs, believing large dogs need lots of room indoors and out and constant attention...which is cool but we can't give it.).
I know with a puppy's like a 2 yr old, starting all over again, plus, maybe anxiety when we leave, ie tear the house up?
Plus, would it get along with the older dog and cat?
Plus, while she's in school and I'm at work Wifey'd have to take care of it...always falls that way..you know

We told her we'd think on it...looking for alternatives, etc

We had hamsters, guinea pigs before...maybe again? IDK

Thoughts? I welcome them
