Balance

Despite of my degree in Kinesiology, I don't really care about sports. Or at least haven't really had the chance to dissect a specific sport. Well SO was watching Steve Nash's speech during his induction to the NBA hall of fame and one line caught my attention during his speech. Steve Nash said something like " be obsessed and think about balance later". Should I switch to that strategy here on out ?

Balance has always been a priority, I equate it to being healthy. Specially since my SO and I are in it for the long run, I wouldn't want to neglect my personal relationships. I do well in extremes and since I started looking for balance in my life, everything has been a bit wonky. It's been a little bit over a year of trying to balance things and I haven't really found the sweet spot.

Motivation would ebb and go so I realized, fuck that shit, I need a better source of energy to do things. Hence the long and arduous journey to having self discipline. I mentioned this before but vanity and a healthy dose of greed are far better carrots than all the witty quotes on the internet. I literally have screenshots of women with toned tummies in my phone just to inspire me to work out. I'm self inflicting insecurities into my system to balance out the hubris that I've developed throughout the years. Sounds fucked up but I think overall it's healthy. Or healthy until it's not.

Cheers to growing pains!
