How do you break a habit?

I miss the presence of having someone. I liked the feeling of someone being available for me when I needed them to. I miss hanging out with someone even if it’s just at their house doing nothing, I miss it. I don’t want to love not anytime soon. I am excited for it though but I’m not ready I don’t want it I don’t need it. I just have to break the habit of someone always being available for me. How does someone fill this void though? This habit? How can i break it ? Over time right ? Well I hope I get over it soon. I don’t want to end up being desperate and then jumping into the lap of the first person whose available. I hope the habit breaks. I need to work on that more.
