October 2017

Hello everyone! October is almost over! This has been a pretty good month for me! I finally got a second job! I am super happy! I didn't think I got the job because the interview went badly. I actually went home and cried 3 times that day. A couple hours later I got a call saying they are offering me the position. I am a yard office coordinator. I am at the same company my dad works for. So that's awesome. As a little kid I always went to work with him whenever I didn't have school. My dad is a semi truck driver. He'd wake me up really early. He also wouldn't let me sleep in the semi. Every time I would try to sleep he would either roll down the window so I would get a blast of wind at me. He would also blast music and sing really loud. He also made me actually work when I would come along with him. Going to work with has to be one of my favourites memories as a child. Working for that company kinda feels like home in a sense? Like I fit in and belong there. To be honest my training was bullshit. I don't think the training was proper at all. I found out the girl who was hired in my position before me quit after her first day. So that was a little intimidating. I felt very overwhelmed. They put me all by myself and that was tricky af. They let someone who works nights come on and off to check up on me. That guy is probably one of my favourites so far. He helped out when I needed it. And he was fun to just sit around and talk to. The guy who did my interview is my least favourite and he knows it too. ahaha. He's just a dick towards me. He also quizzed me every damn morning. I had to do my training in the mornings even though my shift is at night. I work until midnights which I am okay with since I am up that late anyways. A few weeks into the job I feel a lot better. My first day I had a few drivers mad as hell. One driver took it out on me and thankfully that guy who's going to be my supervisor until they actually hire someone yelled back at the driver for me. He reported the guy and that guy got in shit. The next day that driver apologised many times to me. Since then things have gotten easier for me. I am starting to understand the systems and different kinds of trucks/semi and trucking terminology. Sadly the position is only part time so I have to keep my other job that I have had for the last 4 years. I was thinking of just quitting anyways, but I need the benefits. I guess for my new job the only way to get benefits is being full time so that freakin sucks. But something that made me happy was that the pay is so much better than my first job!! I was talking to my sister and she said I make just as much as her and she's an company accountant. So hey that's not bad! If I get on full time that'll be even better! Now that I work 2 jobs it's even harder to make plans. I accomplished quite a few things this year! I am pretty proud, so I think for the rest of the year it's just going to be strictly working as much as I can. Sadly I am missing a wedding social. I am pretty dissapointed. He was a classmate of mine, and I was really looking forward to it. I sent him a message saying have a extra drink for me. I also got my sister a job working with me. (my first job) So that's pretty fun working with her. I also got to start my Christmas shopping which is great. I am hoping by the end of November I'll be done. This took so much longer to write than it needed to be. My laptop froze for half an hour. No matter how many times I reset it, it wouldn't fix. I know I couldn't write too much as for I now have to get ready for work. I will say my sleeping schedule is definitely fucked up. And some days I am super exhausted from working 2 jobs in one day. But I keep telling myself how much it'll pay off in the end. Something that sucks is that because of my job I'll be working on Halloween. Halloween is my second favourite holiday. So this year I can't even celebrate is because I am working so much. Anyways, I am pretty happy the way this month played out. I hope all of you has had a good month. See y'all in November! :)
