A Synopsis of my Life

This evening, I went to the “Ramadan” mosque, which I have not visited for a long time. I had an appointment with barber Xasan; he cut my hair after the ṣalāt. Okay. Having arrived at the mosque yard, I saw Xasan and greeted him. Then I called my mom to inform her that I have gotten there and went to take the tahara.
This ṣalāt was led by Ənvər Xəzrət Xәbirov, the imām, who I saw yesterday. By and large, I enjoyed the ṣalāt, however, some, I would say, strange, things happened to me. At the beginning of the first rak’ah, I suddenly forgot Al-Fatiha, the very first surah of the Holy Qur’ān. I even forgot the words “Bismillāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm”! Oh, that was unbelievable! This kind of embarrassed me. For the first time in my life did I try to read this surah during the salat, but…? It completely slipped my mind!
Quoting the scriptures of different religions and faiths has lately become a tradition of this journal, so I would be happy to quote the whole Al-Fatiha in both Arabic and English in this paper of mine:
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Bismillāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm
In the name of God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
1.2.
Al ḥamdu lillāhi rabbi l-’ālamīn
[All] praise is [due] to God, Lord of the worlds –
1.3.
Ar raḥmāni r-raḥīm
The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,
1.4.
Māliki yawmi d-dīn
Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.
1.5.
Iyyāka na’budu wa iyyāka nasta’īn
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
1.6.
Ihdinā ṣ-ṣirāṭ al-mustaqīm
Guide us to the straight path –
1.7.
Ṣirāṭ al-laḏīna an’amta ‘alayhim ġayril maġḍūbi ‘alayhim walāḍ ḍāllīn
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
Generally speaking, I loved this ṣalāt. I had my hair cut and went home. Xasan did his best as usual.
