A Regular Finale - Day 17
Dear Reader,
This is going to sound like the most stupid reason to be upset over, but man.. I can't help it.
I just watched the finale to Regular Show, and damn.. the feels are real right now.
I don't handle endings, or things being over very well at all... It's a very emotional process for me.
I'll admit, I haven't really watched Regular show in a long time.. I don't really get to watch TV that often.. The only show I follow really is Steven Universe.
I just... I remember seeing the previews for Regular Show.. the one where you see the lawnmower in the distance, and that soft voice saying "Regular Show, coming soon, It's anything but."
The second the music started to play as the park dome came down.. like, I don't know how to explain it.. my heart just ached.
Muscle Man had a daughter while being in space! xD Pop's dad crying..
The Mordecai and the Rigby's T-shirt in the back of Mord's car. T_T
Skips continues working at the park. xD The new employees look cool.
Benson finds love...
I love how they handled Mordecai's love situation.. I love how they didn't just pair him with Margret, or CJ. It was refreshing to see a cartoon end where the main character doesn't get the love interest... because in real life, that's just not how it works. I always loved how they portrayed how, Mordecai was the one who actually struggled with relationships, even though you'd expect different, and Rigby was the one who you'd expect to be awful at them, to have success. I love that Mordecai found someone later in life, rather than sooner.
I love how they showed their lives... that they all moved on to different things... they didn't just end it where it seems that they just work at the park forever (Minus Skips, lol) ... I love how they grew up I guess.
I loved their looks in the end. I loved the last thing Rigby and Mordecai say...
And the very end where the Regular Show tape comes out of the VCR, and Pops' voice says "Ahh, jolly good show."
I FUCKING LOST MY SHIT, OKAY.
It's so hard to believe.. his voice was the last voice you hear from the show. That line is the last line...
That was a line he says all through out the series, and it just.. it worked at that moment so well..
It was a great show... Cartoon Network went through fucking shit for a few years there... and the shows that saved it's ass were Adventure Time, Regular Show, Amazing World of Gumball, and Steven Universe... Clarence, some would even Say Uncle Grandpa ( Didn't care for it)
I just found out yesterday that Cartoon Network is bringing back yet another old series.. Ben 10. *Sigh* That makes the third remake on their channel...
To me, it looks like another dark age for their company is on the horizon. I could be wrong, but it's what it seems.
But.. I just want to say that.. I'm so happy that these shows were a part of my life as a teenager, to now...
They were there during the hardest times of my life...
I just hate to see them go.
But, at the same time.. I'm very glad that they get a respectful finale... I'm glad that there's actual closure.
I'm glad that Cartoon Network isn't trying to stretch them out as thin as they possibly can to drink every last penny out of it, ruining it in the process like Nickelodeon does with Spongebob.
As much as endings are hard... they are definitely needed..
I experience this feeling every time something's going to end...
When I finish a book, a movie... when I graduated.
All good things must come to an end. I'm slowly getting better at learning how to deal with it.
Sincerely,
JollyGoodShow
