A Day Out.

I slept well on 12.5mgs of Sero. Woke up before the alarm by two hours! (0600am). Went back to sleep and the alarm woke me at 0730am. Reset the alarm for another hour and fell asleep again. Woke up again with the alarm amd lingered ten more precious minutes because I didn'feel like going out today. No motivation and the very idea of leaving the warmth and safety of my bed was just too much to momentarily get my head around. I was also a little anxious about spending several long hours on my feet walking the streets with a hip and side injury.
Well I made it through the day.
At 0840am I ate breakfast, washed and dressed, then headed out into the cool, grey rainy morning by 0900. It was just light rain all day and I only made it to the busstop on the main highway with minutes to spare.
Got everything done in town : bank atm, NZPost to do a deposit into the daughter's account, library next to use the computer for an hour, then walked to the suburb's supermarket (not the central one) and went to the pharmacy next door to pick my weekly meds. Walked back into the town centre and shopped at the central supermarket for a wafer block of dark chilli chocolate. (I've eaten it all.) Caught the bus back home and finally received some important mail that I've been waiting on for a few weeks with little hope. Now I'm relieved and happy that I've got it. Now for the hard part. Responding to it. Maybe it won't be so difficult after all. Yet to be seen...

I've figured out over the week how I got my hip and side injury. I've done more than pull a few muscles, I've also done some nerve damage. Walking helps a lot ; it's just bending over forwards that hurts the most, so I do it slowly.
Last Thursday on my day out in town, I was listening to my music on Spotify, and I crossed my legs on a hard wooden busstop bench in my favourite style : I fold my right leg up underneath me so my heel is tucked in tight next to my left butt cheek on the bench, then cross my left leg over my right knee. It's very comfy...but NOT a brilliant or wise way to sit for fifteen to twenty minutes on a hard surface. In the past, I've only executed this slightly yogic position on a soft chair or couch. An hour later, I was in pain. The next day of pain speaks for itself - worse pain! Deep massages with Anti-Flamme and waist stretches plus the walking has helped : move it, or lose it.

Speaking about the mail delivery mode where I live, the postman delivers the mail on a little motorbike which he rides around on the footpath and zips from one side of the road to the other. If you're out walking, it's best to hop out of his way because he's very busy and has lots of important mail to deliver.
Speaking of other rural deliveries, the style of newspaper delivery is something to see. I nearly got hit by a flying newspaper! When I drove protector vehicle for the roadside mowers, this was my first experience of seeing this. The newspapers are individually wrapped in either cling film, or waxed paper and tied with cotton twine. The delivery car does not stop. The newspaper is thrown from the right side of the car, over the roof and lands bang on the driveway entrance. The fastest paper delivery car I've clocked was doing 80kms per hour. That's pretty good skill and timing. They never miss the driveway. In one area, the delivery man would throw me a free paper as a treat. That's why I nearly got hit! He'd throw it at my stationary work truck so damn accurately, he nearly got it through my open window and hit me with it! (Little did he know that he was supplying a news addict's fix.) Those newspapers were special to me. I kept them all, plus the waxed paper and string.
So thankyou sir, whoever you are. You got a mighty fine aim there. :-D

I'm in bed all washed again and in my pyjamas. Not really got any apetite. It's the medication...though I have had a tamgelo orange and two large hot chocolates with the rest of my dark chilli chocolate. I crave this stuff - chilli chocolate. Only found one outlet that sells it here and one brand manufacturer who makes it and makes it well. Hanging out for fresh seafood sushi as well. Seaweed salad especially...could eat a whole half kilo bag of the stuff. Fastfood sushi in NZ is different from restaurant sushi - it's a junkfood version but I still eat it. Can't be fussy.

That's enough about food.

Miss having a man in my life...been a while. A long while. Men friends are different. I've long learnt and observed firm boundaries with men...well...the most important one that matters to me anyway.

Well I'm sore and feeling a little fed up with pain. Pain is something I've lived with for years and years and only started really articulating the best that I can...

I can only but do my best one day at a time.

Five weeks and one day clean tonight.
Progress.
