New Personal Discovery

Life tends to surprise me over and over.

Partially of how exhausting it can be to own a home and to keep it clean. That alone would be a 24/7 job, so I understand people who hire maids. ...if only I had the money.

But I was most surprised about how tough it is to have to clean when being born with a damaged immune system.
Reacting to everything in an overly dramatic way emotionally has nothing to do with it, but my body too. Medications, milk, chemicals.
Especially chemicals. So when I cleaned windows and dishes for the first time my skin tingled and burned a lot, at last my skin peeled off. Which is why I started using gloves. Naturally.

So I did my first hardcore toilet cleaning with the average cleaning product. The smell hit my nostrils and damn, it burned right up to my brain and down my trachea. I thought I had used too much and read the instructions (afterwards, yes, I should have done it beforehand...) Turns out I have not used the recommended amount. It was suggested to take more.

That however did not surprise me that much. What got me was my dizziness. So I went to an open window and wondered if the smell had such a horrible impact on everybody or if it was just me. I did not think that a sheer smell could hurt someone physically to such an extend.

I still feel light headed and unfocused. My stomach is in turmoil and I don't know if I have to throw up.
For now I have made an improvised mouth protector to keep going later on, but the whole thing got me thinking.
It does not matter if this is normal for everybody who uses cleaning chemicals. The least everybody must notice is this stinging smell and the burning pain in the nostrils, right?

So I wonder, who can this be normal? How can everybody use this for cleaning and not giving it a thought of how aggressive and harmul it must be to the invironment including the user, otherwise said the human body.
I know it needs to be aggressive to remove persistent dirt, but what about it otherwise? Commercial says to use chemicals on every little shit. I barely use any because my skin is so sensitive to it, and it works fine most of the time. All one needs is a bit more muscle power, a bit of scrubbing as well as goodwill and persistency.

For those who do not have such a responsive body, they should at least be alarmed by the smell, right? For it is true that I have not given it any serious thoughts before that it smelled so painfully, I instinctively used less than recommended and it all worked out every time, but some people don't think that much, I am sure. They just go with it, saying "But the product description tells me to use so much"...

How many living beings must be killed just because of one drop of this stuff...? It's... hard to believe. It gets me.
In favor of a clean home I kill my surroundings. Even though it makes me sick.
What the hell, what kind of priorities do I have?!
I feel so bad for this... Not only because of the environment, but also because I am worried of how much it affects my body.
Temporary dizziness.
What about the impact on the long run? Not because of the usage today, but about the frequent usage whenever it is necessary.
As soon as the bottle is empty I will try out a different product, but I have the bad feeling that they are all pretty much the same.

What have I learned?

Always use a mouth protector while cleaning. Your skin is not the only sensitive organ.

My mother never uses any protection liek gloves and laughs at mouth protectors. ... I hope she will be fine...
