Race To The Mailbox

Dear Reader,

I'm expecting a package tomorrow.
It's the very first gift I'll be getting from Josh.
And yes, I'm very excited...
It's this totally rad enamel pin that I wanted to get with my birthday money but I couldn't afford it.

I'm stoked, honestly.

But I'm really really really nervous.

In order to avoid conflict, it has to be done extremely particularly.

I've been checking the mail every day since he bought it for me, so that they'd fall out of the habit of checking it themselves.
To ensure that I get to the mailbox first.

Once I get to the mailbox, I'll take the package out, stuff it into my pants or pocket if it'll fit, but most likely my pants.
And then I'll take it to my room, put it in my drawer and open it for him on skype.

That sounds fool-proof right?

I hope so.
I set an alarm so I can just sit up, pull up the blinds and watch outside for it... I'll also be checking on the tracking website while I watch the mail box for the mail lady to come.

So as soon as she comes, I'll get up.. Leave my room, and let Rocky outside and go check the mail like I have normally done for almost a week..

But of course I'm a paranoid, anxious person..
I'm worrying about whether or not it's going to be dropped off by the normal mail-carrier like it usually does when it's a small package.
I'm worrying about whether or not it's even going to arrive tomorrow... I mean that's what the website said but it's shipping from the exact opposite side of the country I live in. Like it's exactly diagonal.. Im not sure if that's enough time to get here..

I'm also worrying about.. What if I don't get to it first.
What if they do.

I've though of an excuse..
If they get it I'll just say it was an item bought for me for Christmas by a friend it ran out of stock.. And just now got restocked.
I'm sure that will work so long as they don't open the package and read the invoice.
But even if they do believe it, I'll still get yelled at for accepting gifts from people.

I'm really nervous.
I just hope I can get to it first.

Wish me luck.

Sincerely,
Mailman
