Beasts and Babies. (D. Creaton.)

Finished this book now. An endearing and romantically imbued yet comically real world life on a mixed animal / crop farm. The volume of labour along with the environmental imagery and behavioural antics of the four-legged characters is described with a talent for honest realism. Insertions of family and business character relationships only served to double the endearment and I found these relationships very moving, even to tears. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. An uncommon literary gem from an author that one cannot help but love.

Next book underway...

Just got back from a walk to the tiny shopping strip on the main road.
Haven't eaten cookies and milk in months so I got both. Passed the young neighbour on the way back, as school had just got out and gave him a cookie. He was hanging over the fence talking to a friend when I said hi.
Feet are still sore from yesterday's walk, which means it's so important to shed more and more weight now that I'm in my fifties.

I'm eating today and the food is going down well and I'm enjoying it too. Stress, worry and guilt do interfere with my enjoyment of food. I do feel healthier eating less meat now.

Haven't done any food shopping as I was too stuffed after all the walking yesterday : sore feet and sore quads. To me it is well worth the endorphin boost and I'm pretty certain that my cerebral synapses were firing healthily too. No depressive episodes. Wonderful.
Which leads me to the next subject...

I am changing the way I see blessings...some have external sources and others come from within ; those are the ones I need to focus on and watch for each day...God's amazingness.

The male friend called me today and said that he would take me to the supermarket tomorrow afternoon. That's very good and I am grateful.

Hope that the grandson calls me tonight or tomorrow...no doubt that he will as I found out from the granddaughter yesterday that their phone has unlimited minutes and mine doesn't. I prefer to text. Look forward to that. Very much.

Tired now. Going to read myself to sleep for an evening nap. Must eat another meal tonight too.

One thing at a time.
