To Be or Not To Be.

It all began when I transformed into a tiger; all I wanted was the World to hear me roar! I was kindergartner at Jefferson elementary who was the biggest fan of our orange stripped mascot. Like all of the others in the playground, I was just a kid, but I saw myself as the next big thing. This five year old would surely conquer the World.

How would I begin walking up a stairway that had no ending? Possibilities were endless and discovering my life's purpose was like finding the answer to Pi. My mom asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Every time I answered her question my answer would always be different. "When I grow up I'm going to be an ice cream man!" Everyone laughed at my idea of becoming a 'man' and I realized I didn't want to be transgender, I wanted to be a woman. "Now I want to be a teacher, this way my students will bring me red juicy apples... Or maybe a model, or a doctor. Come on mom I'm being serious!"

Clueless little Anne had no idea and till this day the answer is constantly changing. Last year I wanted to join the military and study English Literature. At the same time I had my doubts. These four years of High School are slipping away and senior year is approaching. I'm nearly a full grown adult, and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
