September 2015 Music

"White Winter Hymnal" by Fleet Foxes [Can I just say that these lyrics really, really creep me out? In the best way. When I first her 'red as strawberries in the summertime' I automatically thought of a little rosy nose but nope, nope. I'm pretty sure it's blood. Oh gosh.]

I was following the pack, all swallowed in their coats
With scarves of red tied 'round their throats
To keep their little heads from falling in the snow, and I turned 'round and there you go
And Michael, you would fall and turn the white snow red as strawberries in the summertime

I feel so estranged from you, I'm sorry.

It's one of my bad weeks, unfortunately. I'm making the best of it but my emotions don't seem to have any fucking idea what's going on. S'okay, I'll be fine. Wish it didn't have to be this way.

Oh, yeah. I wrote an entry on Sunday and somehow failed to mention that the day before, I was puking all over the place??? Haha. Yeah. I don't think I've gotten more than six hours of sleep since last Thursday, and for me, that's deprivation. Sighhh. But anyway, the puking stopped and I was okay. I had a fever on Monday so I went home early then, but my sore throat and cough have disappeared.

I don't feel like talking today, though. I really don't like myself so I'm trying not to think about that. It'll pass eventually, probably by next week. Hopefully, at least. It rained for more than twelve hours today. Starting at around 6 PM last night and going until a little before noon today. I loved it, but it was really humid and I couldn't sleep. I listened to horror stories (The NoSleep Podcast, which is just people reading Reddit NoSleep stories out loud. Oh, they also have creepy background instrumentals so it enhances the experience).

-Liv is nice
-Lily is nice
-Laney is nice
-Mr. Sandwich is very nice (he brought in food today. Tacos.)
-Momma is nice
-Everything is nice and I don't know why I can't see it.

Oh, I've also discovered that I really like math. Dunno why. I just like doing it. I like the process and the rules. Probably because it makes sense. I need things to make sense, which is why I'm frustrated by science sometimes - I don't know enough to really understand things, y'know? My dad was trying to explain what energy was to me today. Entropy, enthropy, shattered glass, oh whatever.

K, well. I'm going to list my music for this month. There's a lot (I have 70 videos in my playlist this month, wow) so I'll probably cut it down.

----------

Dojo Rising - Cloud Control

At The Bottom - Brand New

Trailer Trash Acoustic Cover - Jessie Lacey (of Brand New)

Oh Comely - Neutral Milk Hotel

In The Aeroplane Over The Sea (full album) - Neutral Milk Hotel (I suggest King of Carrot Flowers and Two Headed Boy, all parts)

Deathbeds - Bring Me The Horizon

Hand Over Mouth, Over and Over - A Lot Like Birds [one of my favorite songs, now]

Where Have You Been? - Manchester Orchestra

Dream Cave - Cloud Control *** (I did this one last month, I just liked it a lot)

Always Forever - Cults

Most Wanted - Cults

***Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine - The Killers (always a good song)

***The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me (Full Album)- Brand New (I love this entire album.

I especially like "Limousine" and "Degausser." And also "Jesus Christ")

Deja Entendu (Full Album) - Brand New (I like this less, because it's kind of punk, but still easy on the ears haha)

Sarah Smiles - Panic! At The Disco (kinda out of place but also easy to listen to for a couple times)

Ghost - From Indian Lakes (This is Liv's favorite band, so I listened to it. I like many things about this band but the singer's voice leaves a lot to be desired, in my opinion. It's just not very emotional or strong to me.

Liv says the lead singer looks like the pretty boy, the one I described a couple entries ago whilst being creepy. I disagree. The lead singer is not like the pretty boy, who I think looks like a bird or a deer or something else that almost looks fragile.)

Rise and Shine - Guster

**One-Eighty by Summer - Taking Back Sunday (good nostalgia)

*One Great City! - The Weakerthans

Yvette - Jason Isbell

Canons Part I, II, and III - Across Canyons (instrumentals)

About Face - Grizzly Bear

San Francisco - Gregory Alan Isakov

***Who Cares? - Owen

***Danko/Manuel - Drive-by Truckers

Cocoon - Catfish & The Bottlemen (easy to listen to. Haven't listened to anything else by these people.)

****This Empty Northern Hemisphere - Gregory Alan Isakov

Brian Eno - MGMT

That Moon Song - Gregory Alan Isakov

****Desdemona - The Alternate Routes

Overdue - The Getup Kids

Halcyon - The Paper Kites

Hurricane - Bob Dylan

Keep It Like A Secret (Full Album) - Built To Spill (I STARTED LISTENING TO THIS BAND LAST TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY, AND I LOVE THEM)

Perfect From Now On (Full Album) - Built To Spill

There Is No Enemy (Full Album) - Built To Spill

****Carry The Zero - Built To Spill (my favorite so far)
