seriously? worker's compensation?

so, I work in a small spa. and yesterday when i was preparing for a session i slipped on a section of wet floor where a co-worker had just wiped with a wet swiffer pad. as i stepped in it my fooot slid out from under me to the front and my back leg stayed put so i was forced into the splits with one leg in front of me one leg behind me. i'm not that flexible so my legs bent after a certain point i hit my knee on our hard marble floor. it wasnt a serious injury because it only hurt for a couple minutes. there is still no bruising and no swelling after 24 hours and my knee cap is just tender to the touch. and i pulled some muscles in my groin area. i called into work saying i was gonna stay home today because of the sore muscles in my groin and i have to walk a bit in order to get to work being a public transit commuter and i didnt want to aggravate the already pulled and sore muscles. but now my manager is insisting that since i was in enough pain to consider calling in to work that i have to go to the doctor and get a doctor's note and that the owner of the spa will pay for the visit. and since i am going to the doctor's for a work related accident they are going to make me fill out industrial accident forms at the clinic for it. seriously?! all of this because of some pulled muscles? god. . . . . i'm scared that this is going to be blown way out of porportion.
