Story of a Girl
Never seen Disney films
I dunno, but I was having a conversation with Guy & Leó... It made me feel a little weird.
El: I want to watch Up... Do we have popcorn?
Guy: LET'S WATCH FROZEN.
El: Up.
Guy: FRO. ZEN.
El: UP.
Guy: WE'RE WATCHING FUCKING FROZEN. *grabs remote*
El: OH HELL NO, FUCKBOY. *they're fighting over the remote*
Me: I've never seen either of those movies. Are they good?
It got really quiet. I swear, I could have heard my heart beating.
El: Holy-- you're lying.
Me: I've never seen any of those.
Guy: You're a huge liar. EVERYONE's seen Frozen.
Me: Everyone except MEEEE.
El: Have you seen The Lion King? Cinderella? Beauty & the Beast? FINDING NEMO?
Me: Nooooope.
Guy: I don't even know what to say.
El: ...Little Mermaid? Pocahontas? Aladdin? TANGLED?
Me: What the hell is Pocahontas? Sounds like polka dots.
Guy: I CAN'T RIGHT NOW.
El: What about The Princess & The Frog? Sleeping Beauty? Snow White? The Jungle Book? TARZAN?
Me: *stares blankly at him*
Guy: ...I'm so sad.
El: LILO & STITCH? CARS? BRAVE? PINOCCHIO? MULAN? BAMBI?
Me: Isn't Mulan the one with the hair?
Guy: "The one with the hair." I literally can't.
El: Dumbo? Wreck-it Ralph? Hercules? Monsters Inc? Peter Pan? TOY STORY? Please tell me you've seen Toy Story; they play it on television all the time.
Me: I don't know what you're talking about & I'm embarrassed.
Guy: I'm so close to being done.
El: Oh my god. Do you even watch television?
Me: Um...
El: DO YOU KNOW WHO KEVIN HART IS? MELISSA MCCARTHY? SHE'S FROM THE HEAT & BRIDESMAID. MIKE & MOLLY, does that ring a bell?
Me: No, who are they?
Guy: DONE. *storms out of room* I LITERALLY CAN'T WITH YOU. I NEED A MOMENT.
Me: BABY COME BACK... eheh.
El: *sighing heavily* Oh my god. For once, I agree with Guy. I need a moment, too.
They didn't come back until 15 minutes later. I was kind of scared that I upset them.. They looked through the things recorded on the DVR & they played Frozen for me--it was my first time seeing it... I don't understand why there's so much hype surrounding Frozen. It was okay, I guess. I liked "Love is An Open Door" better than "Let It Go," but whatever.

I've never really seen any Disney movies, apart from Frozen. I mean... I know about Cinderella--motherless girl who loses her shoe. Prince comes to get her, happily ever after. I saw the scene in Mulan where they play "Make a Man." But that's it. Other than that, I've never really seen a Disney film.
I used to watch television, back when my parents were together. I normally watched things on Nickelodeon & on Disney channel, before they turned to shit. After my parents divorced, my mom had cable but it was never the channels I liked watching. She also struggled to pay the bills by herself, so the channels we watched were the basic channels. My father never had cable; he didn't even have a fully functioning television. He had a television-- the most I did was plug in a cheap console from the Swapmeet into the television & play the games that came with it. When I was in middle school, my father bought an actual television-- a flat screen. However, my siblings always hogged the tv, & they didn't watch anything that caught my interest, so I just kinda shrugged it off. My mother was able to pay more often, but she always deleted my recordings off the DVR. Now in the more recent years, I've watched a little more television. I've only seen Full House, My Wife & Kids, George Lopez, & CSI: Miami, though. Her husband records a lot of stuff, & they delete whatever I record... I gave up all hope. You know, thanks to one of my classes, I was able to watch films like Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, & Star Wars. Without that class, I probably wouldn't have bothered to watch those movies on my own time.
I tried watching television online, but with my shitty laptop & internet connection, I gave up all hope on that, too.
I feel bad, though. I feel so left in the dark. When people converse about actors & movies & shit, I get so lost. "Uh, who's that?" Sometimes I try to watch movies as soon as they come out, but my parents never let me go out to the casinos or to the dollar theaters by myself. If I can't go with them, then I can't go.
I think I'll just try to get more... "involved" for 2015. I think I'll start by watching more Disney Films.
